Kari Greene, CMT, Founder, Instructor
When I was 16 I was injured in an auto accident. I received massage therapy as part of my healing and fell in love with massage. Several years later, in 1987, I began my career as a massage practitioner at the Wellspring School of Massage in Morro Bay, taught by Bo and Lacey Cooper PhD. Ten years later I attended Ashland Massage Institute, there I took the professional licensing program. Since that time, I have worked with doctors, chiropractors, physical and occupational therapists as well as maintaining my own private practice. I began teaching at the Agape School of Massage in Eureka CA in 2004. Since that time, I have taught classes at the Arcata School of Massage in Pathology and Physiology. I have also been trained in Lymph Drainage Therapy by Michael Drew of Heartwood Institute and Bruno Chickly, Cranial Sacral Therapy with Dr. Kate McCaffrey, Myofascial Release with Johnathan Barnes, Zero Balancing with founder Fritz Smith, and Reiki and Jikkiden with Kausalya Denise Payne Olivier. I also have taught private classes for groups, couples, and individuals. I take my collective experience as a therapist and instructor to create a unique educational experience.

A few years ago while staffing an emergency room I encountered a patient who had been in a car accident. The patient refused medications, saw that I was a D.O. and asked for Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). The patients neck pain decreased soon after the treatment. Surprised and delighted that my OMM skills still worked after a few years of emergency medicine, I opened an integrative osteopathic medicine clinic in Arcata and McKinleyville in Humboldt county, CA. I received my doctor of osteopathic medicine degree Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, CA in 1996. I have completed continuing medical education courses in Osteopathy Manual Medicine Exercise Prescription, nutrition, and homeopathy to bring my students the latest in integrative structural medicine. As a doctor of osteopathy my background includes board certification by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine, American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, and the American board of Integrative Holistic Medicine. At Spirals of Life Institute, I will teach hands on body work including myofascial release, anatomy and physiology, and Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.

Jikiden Reiki, Sound Healing Guest Instructor
Usui Reiki Master/ Teacher- Western Lineage Jikiden Reiki- Japanese Lineage: Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai and Singing Bowl/ Sound Healer
I have a great love for Usui Reiki and Sound Healing. These two modalities, along with Crystal Healing and healing with Essential Oils, clear the way for me to facilitate for others and do my true work in life.
Jikiden Reiki is the Usui Reiki lineage directly from Japan as taught by Hayashi Sensei. I offer Jikiden Reiki seminars in Shoden (Level I) and Okuden (Level II). I have been an independent Usui Reiki Master/Teacher and practitioner who studied with 3 Western Usui Reiki Master/Teachers in the past. I have been blessed to offer Reiki healing and trainings in the Usui System of Natural Healing in Northern California since 2007.
I’m honored to offer my students and clients the original Reiki teachings of Makao Usui. I completed my Shihan (advanced teacher level) in February, 2017. I will continue my Jikiden Reiki training with Tadao Sensei and Arjava Sensei to further my Reiki healing knowledge for myself, students, clients and community.
I believe that I must continually work on myself to best serve others for the highest good of all. I’m honored to commit to my students, clients, and myself to always work hard and be the best student I can be.
Jikiden Reiki offers healing on a soul level, assisting a person’s physical body as well as their mental/ emotional bodies. I feel when this happens it allows a person to be more in balanced on a spiritual level as well. We become more connected with “our true knowing”.
Being a Jikiden Reiki practitioner and teacher allows me to offer the services that provide balance to the physical body, helping to remove toxins and blocks. It also allows me to offer a series of specific mental/emotional treatments. This special series of treatments can help a person release old habits and assist in awakening the awareness which can create a more balanced behavior.
In addition to Reiki, Sound Healing has become a powerful healing force for me and my clients and community. Sharing the power of sound allows me to facilitate Sound Healing for individuals, couples, small groups, large groups, and special events. I’ve been blessed with a space which allows me the support of over 30 singing bowls, chimes, drums, gongs, rattles, and so much more.
I have trained in many healing modalities and have been taught by many amazing teachers. These teachers include but are not limited to Jonathan Goldman, Melanie Z. Tolley, and Karen Kuk-Nagle.

Intro to Circulatory Massage starts September 16th 2019
n this mostly hands on course students will learn to give a complete full body circulatory massage. Circulatory massage is the most common healing method used for enhancing the proper flow of blood through the entire body and providing relaxation to the various muscles. ... The last stroke is known as vibration stroke, where a rapid shake or vibration is applied to the targeted muscle. Originally developed and perfected in Sweden, this specific massage helps relieve stress from the body and muscles, and can help improve a person’s overall mental and physical health. Using a variation of five different strokes, this therapeutic massage involves applying pressure (medium to deep), tension, vibration or motion to the different parts of the body either with hand, arms or electronic massage devices. When applied with expertise, this massage technique has several benefits. It not only helps by increasing oxygen to flow to the bloodstream and relaxing tense muscles, but also expelling harmful toxins from the body by boosting the lymphatic system’s ability to cleanse lactic acid, uric acid, and metabolic waste. This results in better bodily function and can lower blood pressure. Also included are basic Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Kinesiology and Hydrotherapy. The course is a total of 100 hours Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 5:30-9:30 and two Saturdays. Cost for this course: $1200. Payment plans are available.
Students who enroll in this unaccredited intro course will be eligible for reduced tuition for our fully accredited 550 course starting in January 2020!
